Everytime i try to call someone or someone calls me (home fone) I lose connection (internet goes off). I have a DSL modem that is hooked up to a phone jack. And my chordless fone works fine but when i plug my main fone into the phone jack my internet goes off complety. I do not have a router and if i get one will this stop? If not why is it happening and how can I stop it?

Sounds like DSL "Filter" problem.

Make sure filter is installed correctly.

Filter should be between Phone and wall jack, only.

Do Not put filter between wall jack and DSL modem.

Every phone in house that plugs into wall jack must have a DSL filter in line with its phone cord.

Otherwise, test with different phone, just to be sure phone is not bad (or it's cord).

Try to reconfigure your modem. Check to be sure the phone you are plugging in is working properly. Use a DSL filter

You should first of al have a spiltter which splits the voice and data on the line

the voice goes for calling(phone) and the data goes to internet

also ypou should have filters attached on your line.
