My answerphne red light indicator is on. My OGM 1 message plays inviting the caller to leave a message. The message is then transferred to the BT 1571 message service, although the message indicator shows a message has been received. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

Well it sounds to me as though you have your own answering machine connected at home and BT`s Answer 1571 Voicemail activated in the exchange at the same time. This is not an ideal situation. I would suspect that when an incoming call arrives it is activating both and 1571 voicemail is winning.

Decide which one you want to use and switch the other one off, you don`t need both, or you may be able to change the setting of one of them to make it your preferred one by answering the call earlier than the other device.

1571 will take a message when you are already on a call but your answerphone will not by the way.

Just a thought, best of luck with it anyway, ex BT Bob.
