I have to agree with you. It is quite difficult with cordless phones when you try to get hold of someone from Customer Services somewhere and you have to constantly have to take the phone away from your ear to continue the joys of button pressing. My fingers get sore from all the damn button pressing. They get quite heavy to hold too if you are on the phone for too long. I have a loud speaker on mine but I really use it because I find it a bit strange to talk through a loud speaker! The only real advantage is being able to walk around with them but then again, the signal isn't always as good as it is cracked up to be. Yes, the old corded phones were much more comfortable to hold and less likely to misdial than with a cordless one.

Plantronics makes cordless headsets for home use. They connect to your corded phone to provide hands free away-from-the-desk accessibility.

Many cordless phones have a phone jack in them that you can attach a wired headset. Not a big problem if your cordless has a belt clip like mine does. That's the cheapest solution.



Check your cordless phone for a jack and buy a headset unit for $15 USD and your set to go.
