Search around the outside of your house and find the phone box. In there should be a number of wires, I think sets of two wires, one for each phone line. One of these sets should be connected to your existing phone line, and the other two disconnected or grounded.
You can experiment a bit connecting the lines that come from outside into the box (the ones that connect you to the phone company) to one of the other sets of wires. One of these sets should be what you need.
Don't worry too much about screwing anything up -- just be sure to mark which wires are currently connected (the wires should be color-coded to keep them separate) and if you encounter any problems, just connect them back the way they were. You might need a screwdriver to unscrew the wire connectors, but otherwise, it's not much different from hooking up a speaker to a stereo.

Leave the DSL modem where it is, then run an Ethernet CAT5 cable to the other room with your computer. The Ethernet can be up to 330 feet long. Done.
