what are the area codes that I should use when dialing a lucknow mobile number from a landline phone? I have already tried '+91' and '522' only to have a recorded voice telling me to check 'calcuttatelephones.com' for the correct codes?

the STD code is 522 ,you have to prefix it by 0 and then dial the required number.Pl try.

I am not aware of any area codes where that would be a long distance call in the Lower 48 states of the USA. As long as the area code on the cell phone is the same as the land line there should be no toll or long distance charge. But outside the boundaries of the lower 48 in the USA I have no Idea. It would not make sense to do that but then again the world does silly stuff. Sorry I can't be of more help. I use to be responsible for phone service at a couple of companies I worked for but that was a long time ago. Things change.
