Please, has anyone out there had similar problems with their phone?
For about five months 3 separate households, all with similar numbers beginning 800... have been receiving calls at all hours of the day and night from my land line number, but no one here is calling them. Whilst we were away for 6 weeks, there were 90 calls to these three numbers. Euphony are our providers but they have never come across this problem before and seem to have given up trying to sort it. BT have checked the line too and report no fault. I am beginning to think the only option is to leave Euphony, but am reluctant, as otherwise we find it a great service that has saved us a lot of money. These strange calls do not inconvenience us, as we don't pay for them , but we do not want the poor recipients to be inconvenienced any longer. Seems that changing our provider now is the only option. Has anyone else had this happen please and if so what to do?
Recipients had their phone lines checked - report no probs

I've never heard of this company, but I'm thinking you may not reside in the U.S.?

Here, we have an option of calling back the last number that made an incoming call to our line. Ask your provider if they offer that, and also the providers of those receiving these mystery calls.

The "receivers" of these calls could utilize "Last Number Callback" to determine WHERE / WHAT NUMBER the actual call is originating from.

I think someone managed to highjack your phone line, for unknown reasons, if they are only going to call the same 3 people. Or, it's a computer glitch...

Either way, highly annoying....

Ask your providers to give you some tools to track down the culprit / problem.

Good luck!

Have you been supplied with a smart box by Euphony? This is a small white box that looks like an adsl filter, the box plugs into your telephone socket and then your phone plugs into it. If so I suspect it has gone faulty, the box dials a preset number so it goes onto the Euphony software, the box has gone faulty and is now dialling these three numbers. The only way for this to stop is to plug your phones directly into the phone sockets without the smart boxes, the downside to this you will have to call Euphony and ask them for the pin number that you will have to dial before EVERY call so the call goes through their software, otherwise you will be charged by BT. Anymore probs come back and I'll try to reply.

You are inviting this dysfunction and drams into your life. If you really and truly want this crap to stop and if you really do want his horrible person out of your life, you would exercise some intelligence and get rid of him once and for all. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT answer calls from numbers you do not know. Whomever is on the other line will either hang up or leave a message. If the message is rude, threatening or in any other way uncivil, then save those messages and go to the police. All they have to do is call the number and ask them to stop contacting you. That should make him and his friends stop. And, if not, then you get a restraining order against them. Either you are proactive at stopping this or proactive at keeping it going. The choice is yours. Now, stop answering that damn phone, stop talking to that degenerate ex of yours and maybe even temporarily delete your facebook account if you are still being bothered there. Honestly, it is hard to feel sorry for someone who cannot help themselves. You have to take action here and stop playing the victim. Begin by not answering unfamiliar calls--we all have caller ID, use it!!

I know of one possibility. It may be someone is simply playing a prank. Bored.com has this thing on there that allows you to make a phone call to anybody you'd like and to choose which phone number comes up as the caller. That means you could make your mom receive a call at 3 in the morning on her cell phone from your dads cell phone even if they are both next to each other sleeping and your dads cell phone was off. Check it out at http://www.bored.com/dialpeople/index.php

Are you using any cordless phone? If so, unplug all the cordless phones and use corded phones for a few days and it might eliminate this strange problem.

Wow never heard of that before. If you can get a spare one, try a different phone.
