Why does the phone go out on the day I'm waiting to hear about the job I interviewed for????

I had an interview for a job yesterday that I REALLY want. She called last night to say that she was checking my references and would make a decision today. My phone is out, but my high speed internet still works. Why does it always happen this way????

It happens for the same reason that anytime you are dirving somewhere, and you're in a hurry. Every light is red.

I had this problem with a Internet phone provider and it was the modem. I would turn it off and then turn it on and it would work? And if you turn off your TV the signal is stronger and it helps to connect better. I know it sounds funny but it worked for me.
